Shannon County Clerk

The County Clerk is the elected official responsible for a wide variety of duties in addition to serving the custodian of records for the County Commission. 

 Some of the primary responsibilities of the County Clerk's office are as follows:

• Serve as the budget officer
• Handle all county insurance and accounts payable activities
• Handle all employee benefits, payroll, and personnel records
• Conduct all elections
• Bid openings: Receive all bids and maintain files of bids and notices
• Performs certification of value and rates of all political subdivisions
• Performs certification of all local and personal revenue to the County Collector
• Performs certification and apportionment of revenue for railroad and utility companies

Services provided to the public:

• Absentee Voting/Voter Registration
• ATV permits
• Licenses: County Liquor, Auctioneer and Wrecker Licenses
• Purchase County Plat Book, Plat Map, and County Road Map
• Commission for Notary Public
• Job Applications

The County Clerk's office is located on the second floor of the courthouse.
