The Shannon County collector of revenue is the elected official responsible for collecting the current and delinquent property taxes.  This office also collects for various other political subdivisions that have authorized property tax levies.  The collector is also responsible for the distribution of the taxes to the different entities and collecting merchant's license fees.

Personal and real estate property taxes are levied annually.  The bills are sent out around the first of November and are due by December 31st of that year.  The post mark does determine if a late fee is applied.  If a tax bill (s) is not received by the last of November please contact the Collector's Office (573) 226-3416.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve you of the obligation of paying taxes and late fees.

The collector's office is located on the second floor of the courthouse.  Taxes may be paid by personal check (please include date of birth on the check), money order or cash.
