The County Clerk is the elected offical responsible for a wide variety of duties in addition to serving the custodian of records for the County Commission.
Some of the primary responsibilities of the County Clerk's office are as follows:
- Serve as the budget officer
- Handle all county insurance and accounts payable activities
- Handle all employee benefits, payroll and personnel records
- Conduct all elections
- Bid openings: Receive all bids and maintain files of bids and notices
- Performs certification of value and rates of all political subdivisions
- Performs certification of all local and personal revenue to the County Collector
- Performs certification and apportionment of revenue for railroad and utilitly companies
Services provided to the public:
- Absentee Voting/Voter Registration
- ATV permits
- Licenses: County Liquor, Auctioneer and Wrecker Licenses
- Purchase County Plat Book, Plat Map and County Road Map
- Commission for Notary Public
- Job Applications
The County Clerk's office is located on the second floor of the courthouse.
